I am lead for paediatric dermatology in my NHS service. I regularly see babies and children in my NHS and private practice and have worked in combined clinics with allergists and general paediatricians. Understanding the impact of paediatric skin conditions on both the child and caregivers is key to achieving good outcomes.
As part of my paediatric dermatology work I see:
- Undiagnosed rashes
- Eczema (mild, moderate and severe)
- Skin allergies
- Common skin lesions (e.g. warts, molluscum, ‘birthmarks’)
- Vascular lesions (e.g. haemangiomas)
- Child and adolescent acne
- Vitiligo and other pigmentation-related conditions
